Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: what you should know this morning

Here are your closures so far this morning: Loveland Pass and I-70 westbound at Vail.
Here are your closures so far this morning: Loveland Pass and I-70 westbound at Vail.

First, and most importantly, I-70 is closed westbound at Vail Pass, thanks to a jackknifed semi. We’re fairly confident, however, that most of you who want to pick up the fresh snow that fell at Vail and Beaver Creek will be good to go a little later this morning.

Just be sure to go to before you head out and while you’re on the road (as long as someone else is checking it for you while you drive!).

Loveland Pass is also closed this morning, meaning you’ll need to take the long way around to A-Basin and Keystone. But again, this may change, though is less likely to change than the closure on Vail Pass, as the morning wears on.

Snow is still being reported from basically Beaver Creek back over to just east of the Eisenhower Tunnel, up at Steamboat, and from I-70 up Berthoud Pass and down to Winter Park. Snow is likely to continue in this general area of the northern and central Colorado Rockies through tomorrow morning.

So, where you see 24-hour snow totals in the report below is where you’re likely to see more tomorrow as well. Conversely, where you see 0s this morning, you’re likely to see them tomorrow as double-0s.

Check back tomorrow morning for the latest snow report, forecast and road conditions. In the meantime, here are the 24-hour snow totals from across Colorado…
