It’s funny how the forecast changes from day to day. In other words, weather is very unpredictable, as we’ve seen over the past 24 hours.
We’re currently experiencing an upslope storm, which means the heaviest snow favors the Front Range, eastern plains and foothills of Colorado. You can see this in the 24-hour accumulation totals below, where Eldora won the overnight snow total award. Eldora is typically the beneficiary of upslope storms due to its relative proximity to Boulder.
Anyway, what was shaping up to be a sunny springtime week ahead is looking more like there could be a chance for snow most of the week, albeit not a particularly good chance nor is it expected to snow all that much. However, the shift in the general forecast for the week could mean some surprises ahead.
Conditions should be very nice indeed for skiing, though it will be colder than most people expect from spring skiing, but there it is. The roads look pretty good, too, unless you’re headed east of Denver where everything is basically shut down.
