Yesterday was U.G.L.Y.: Unmitigated Grief and Lots of Yahoos. Once again, many highways were closed yesterday because of a form of precipitation that Coloradoans were, at one time in the not-so-distant past, used to and prepared for.
Unfortunately, what we have now are lots of people from other states who bring their rat-race crappy driving habits with them, as well as their totalitarian, nanny-ninnie boo-boo politics (telling us what we can and cannot eat, drink, smoke, shoot, think and say), as they drive hard to escape what made their states unlivable, while they – quite ironically in a very Oedipus Rexian manner – destroy Colorado. But that’s another rant for another time.
So there were lots of closures yesterday, mainly on the eastern plains, but Vail Pass was closed for a bit, despite the fact that it really didn’t snow heavily in the mountains. Oh well.
Perhaps today will be much better, and we expect it will be. However, it’s always recommended that you check www.cotrip.org before you go anywhere. We check it even for a cross-town trip due to the destroyers who have moved to Colorado.
Anyway, the last four days of snow have been quite helpful. There are some lingering snow squalls along the Continental Divide, and there’s a decent chance for more snow across much of the state through about midnight as kind of a last gasp from this latest storm system.
Our Top Five Snow Catchers over the past four days were: Breckenridge, Copper Mountain, Vail, Aspen Mountain and Snowmass. Top Five Overnight Snow Catchers were: Breckenridge, Steamboat, Copper Mountain, Vail, and Beaver Creek and Keystone tied for fifth.
