Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: the week ahead

We’ve been getting little bits and pieces of snowfall in the mountains this week, but a new wave is expected over the next 24 hours that will bring more snow and more widespread snow. After that, not much is expected until next week, but we’ll keep an eye out for you.

The big thing to look for if you’re headed to the mountains this week is the construction at the Twin Tunnels between Floyd Hill and Idaho Springs where you could see 20-minute stops as they blast and whatnot.

In the long run the Twin Tunnels project should help ease congestion at that Floyd Hill bottleneck, but it’s going to be a real bear from here on out until the project is completed. If you want to do your best to avoid any problems there, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) has created a project hotline you can call at 303-327-4034.

In the meantime, here are the 24-hour snow totals with more to come tomorrow morning…
