Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: snow week

Conditions are excellent across Colorado, but this time around Aspen/Snowmass and Powderhorn are leading the way with snow totals from this latest system.
Conditions are excellent across Colorado, but this time around Aspen/Snowmass and Powderhorn are leading the way with snow totals from this latest system.Aspen/Snowmass

More snow fell yesterday across Colorado, with pockets of relatively heavy snow mainly west toward Aspen and the Grand Mesa (Powderhorn).

There will be a brief reprieve today, then more snow tonight and a good chance for snow all the way through Saturday. As noted yesterday, excepting spots of heavier snow in the south and west, we’re expecting daily totals of around two to four inches.

If you’re reading this from the Denver area, you know that it’s super-cold (-10 at last check). It will be quite chilly in the mountains, but not quite as chilly as Denver, ironically enough. While Denver will barely creep above zero, most mountain locations will make it above 10 degrees.

Be careful on the roads, bundle up and enjoy all the new snow up there! In the meantime, here are the overnight snow totals from Colorado’s ski areas…
