Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: snow is accumulating

See also

This could turn into a great snow storm for Colorado’s ski areas, bringing in an additional 6-12 inches on top of what fell overnight. It will likely favor the northern and central mountain areas with more snow than the south, west and southwest portions of the state.

Plus, it looks to have a bit of an upslope characteristic to it, which means heavier accumulations east of the Continental Divide (read: Eldora).

It’s supposed to snow all weekend long, though it will likely taper off to light snow and flurries by Sunday morning, followed by two or three dry days before the next potential for snow rolls into Colorado.

Look out for extra-crappy traffic this weekend; at least that’s what the Colorado Department of Transportation is warning. Our suggestion is to either leave early or leave late; there’s no point in sitting on I-70 for no good reason.

Be sure to check back here tomorrow morning to find out who got what today. We’ll also keep an eye on road conditions as the day progresses and will update this page if something significant happens. In the meantime, here are the overnight snow totals…
