It’s always the classic Good News/Bad News scenario when the road conditions report from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is snow, icy, snow packed. The bad news is, the drive could be sketchy. The good news is… Powder day!
Well, not always a powder day. It really doesn’t take too much to create snow, icy, snow packed conditions in the mountains this time of year through early the next summer. However, it’s usually a decent indicator of what to expect up there.
Having said (or written) all that, the forecast looks good for new snow through Friday with up to six additional inches or so until then. It will be fairly windy and cold, though, so be prepared for that.
In the meantime here are the 24-hour snow totals…
Arapahoe Basin: 3” (3 lifts, 6 trails, 1 terrain park, 90 acres, 18” base)
Loveland: 2 1/2” (2 lift, 4 trails, 99 acres, 18” base)
