Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: six days and counting

With some lingering snow along I-70 and up by Steamboat, it appears we’ll end up with a full week of snow in Colorado’s high country. This was a nice, steady snowfall that helped loosen up more terrain at Colorado ski areas that were struggling to get more open.

Breckenridge, for instance, will open its Imperial Express SuperChair this weekend, providing access to Whale’s Tail on Peak 8 and upper Peak 7 terrain. For the exact opening day and time go to www.facebook.com/Breckenridge.

The Imperial Express SuperChair, tops out at 12,840 feet after a 2.7-minute ride to the top of the Imperial Bowl. It gives skiers and riders access to three high-alpine bowls and hike-to access to the famed Lake Chutes and Snow White areas of Peak 8.

Enjoy the new snow since we’ll be high and dry all weekend and into most of next week. Stay tuned for more news and events right here. In the meantime, here are the 24-hour totals with the six-day totals in parentheses, and the updated terrain report from across Colorado…
