Our second round of snow yesterday, generally speaking, was far more productive than usual. As you can see by the snow totals below, the best results came in from the far southwest and northwest.
Expect a lull in the snow today until sometime this afternoon as another system, Round Three, comes in from the north. This one may be a bit more judicious and consistent across the state since it’s dropping in from Montana and Wyoming.
This storm may provide the last push to open Monarch, Powderhorn and Ski Cooper in the week or two. It’s expected to last through Monday morning, with clear, sunny days to follow until Thursday when the next snow potential rolls into the state.
Roads are icy and snow packed statewide, but there are no closures or major problems. The usual common sense driving techniques apply: Take it easy, don’t tailgate and don’t slam on your brakes if you don’t have to. Basically, be nice!
