Something snowy moved into the mountains last night and is starting to churn out something nice for Monday if you can somehow contract something that requires a sick day.
There were some decent totals at A-Basin, Copper, Loveland and Winter Park last night as you can see in this morning’s snow report, but we expect tomorrow morning’s totals to be even better, perhaps twice as much.
Unfortunately, it won’t matter at Aspen Mountain, Breck, Copper and Winter Park as they all close for the season today. Be sure to browse through the past week or so of archives here to see what they have planned on their final days, or click on the links to each resort listed in the previous sentence.
So, after today it will be a pair of aces: A-Basin and Loveland. We usually start the season with this pair and then end with this pair. Loveland is scheduled to close next Sunday, which is a real bummer. It would be nice if Loveland would stay open as long as there’s snow to ski/ride, but there it is.
We hope and pray that snow continues to fall generously into May so that A-Basin will stay open through July 4 and provide us with another full month of summer skiing. There’s nothing better than A-Basin in June and July.
Be sure to check back tomorrow to see how it went today. Mother Nature can be fickle, like a box of chocolates and other clichés, so it’s always interesting to see what transpires….
