Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: new snow and the week ahead

Snow totals from the past 24 hours varied wildly at the extremes, but generally stayed within a range of three to seven inches across Colorado’s mountains.

The roads are looking pretty good this morning, and if you take it cautiously all will be well until the traffic begins its usual Sunday afternoon dalliance with Hell’s parking lot. Leave early, late or not at all to avoid getting sucked into the void, aka I-70.

Snow is currently falling only at the higher elevations, but another wave of energy is expected to bring more consistent snowfall later today, tonight and into Monday. Even so, we don’t expect much more than what we’ve seen so far, perhaps four to eight inches over the next 24 hours or so.

Be sure to check back tomorrow morning for the three-day totals and the latest terrain report. In the meantime, here are the 24-hour and 48-hour totals…
