Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: Monday Funday

If you can find a way to get away today, we suggest you do. And, if you do, bundle up and be calm and fair on the roads leading to whichever ski resort you decide to attend today: it’s once again supposed to be quite cold and blustery, bringing those wind chills down below zero and making the roads sketchier than normal.

Loveland Pass is closed again this morning due to the usual (at least over the past five days or so) “adverse conditions,” which means “prime conditions” for skiing and riding.

More snow is expected over the course of the day into tomorrow morning, after which time this lengthy and consistent snow flow is expected to end. So, we’ll end up with a full seven days in a row of snow.

Given that, we’ll wait till Wednesday morning to post the full terrain report for two reasons: one, to get the snow total info out ASAP (compiling the terrain report is time-consuming), and two, to give the ski areas another chance to evaluate conditions and get more terrain ready for you.

The snow totals below are quite interesting, with some major feasting and just a bit of famine at odd spots. For instance, we don’t get how Telluride gets ten inches in 24 hours, while Purgatory picked up an inch, and you saw some of those disparities at other ski areas along the I-70 corridor.

Anyway, just about anywhere you go today will be a powder day, some more than others, so check out the totals below. The first number is 24-hour totals, and so on down the line, with cumulative totals through the past six days.

If you’re able to get away, have a great, safe time, and an amazing week otherwise. See you tomorrow…
