Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: Everything’s closed

And that’s no joke… CDOT has closed the following mountain highways: I-70 eastbound Vail to the Eisenhower Tunnel, I-70 westbound west of C-470, Berthoud Pass (US 40), Loveland Pass (US 6). Essentially, there’s no way up from Denver to access the resorts along the I-70 corridor.

It’s windy and continuing to snow in those areas, so it’s the classic good news/bad news situation. Check back here for the latest on when and if those major roads to the ski areas along I-70 open.

The National Weather Service is calling for “heavy snow” in those areas from Vail east to the tunnel and over to Winter Park, Echo Mountain and Eldora (good news), with “snow likely” tonight as well (more good news). Snow returns to the forecast Saturday night with some chance for snow through next Wednesday (even more good news).

Here are the four-day totals from around the state. Pay extra attention to the I-70 resorts and those along and east of the divide…
