Things are progressing nicely in the high country today thanks to a nice dose of natural snow over the past two days. Now, it’s sunny and nice and the three open ski areas (the Colorado trio) are slowly making progress to open a little more terrain.
Loveland, for instance, opened the intermediate Spillway, which leads to Lower Richards and back down to the base, so that it now has two long runs open from top to bottom. Wolf Creek joins the snow report for the weekend only with about 20 percent of its terrain open for skiing and riding.
According to the National Weather Service, there’s a good chance for more snow Sunday and Sunday night, with a potential for around 6 inches at Loveland and A-Basin.
In the meantime here are the 24- and 48-hour snow totals …
Arapahoe Basin: 1”, 6” (1 lift, 2 trails, 18” base)
Loveland: 1”, 10” (1 lift, 2 trails, 19” base)
Wolf Creek: 0”, 1” (2 lifts, 280 acres, 20% open, 19” base)
