Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: bonus weekend in June

And still another powder day at Arapahoe Basin this morning as the snow continues to fall up there regularly.

Thanks to all of that snow A-Basin announced earlier in the week that it was extending its season with an extra weekend tacked on June 6-8. But that might not be all, folks, especially if this snow keeps up and enough die-hards keep going.

Back in the day, come snow, come shine, come whatever, A-Basin would stay open until July 4, unless it was a truly catastrophic snow season. In fact, back in the day, there have been times when other Colorado ski areas opened as late as Memorial Day. Alas, the times have changed and priorities with them.

But no matter, there’s a pretty solid chance that A-Basin will open beyond the bonus weekend of June 6-8. Keep your fingers crossed for openings through July 4, as we were fortunate enough to have a couple of seasons ago.

There may be some lingering snow up there today, a decent chance for more accumulation tonight, and then after tomorrow. Enjoy the great conditions and let’s keep it going through July 4! In the meantime, here are the 24-, 48-, and 72--hour totals so far and in that order…
