This is quite the snowstorm we’re getting across Colorado this morning, meaning more needed accumulations in the high country. Over the past four days, the totals at Colorado’s ski areas range between 5 1/2 inches all the way up to 44 inches at Monarch.
It continues to snow steadily today and is expected to through the evening, so check back to see who wins the five-day snow contest: Monarch has a 44 to 41 lead on Wolf Creek with Telluride the dark horse candidate at 34.
Loveland Pass is closed this morning due to “adverse conditions,” as is Hoosier Pass between Breckenridge and Fairplay because of an accident. Otherwise it’s slow going, but not too bad… yet. The worst road conditions are expected east of Denver.
The snow is expected to clear out by morning, leaving behind clear but “blustery” conditions in the mountains, then another dose moves in Monday night into Tuesday, with a chance for snow all the way through Thursday. Spring Break skiing should be very nice indeed all across Colorado.
