Today’s Colorado ski and snow report: big chill day two

See also

Generally speaking, we’d say that we fell short on snow accumulation by about half based on the predictions preceding this last snow storm, which has exited Colorado and left behind super-chilly temperatures that will stay here for awhile.

Still, there are some very nice two-day snow totals and skiing conditions will be fantastic for some time to come. We’re just not sure if it was enough snow to loosen up as much terrain as we thought it would be possible to open for the weekend. We’ll give the ski areas a day to figure that out and post the terrain report tomorrow morning.

There’s a very slight chance of some lingering snow here and there every day, though we’re expecting nothing until Saturday and Sunday when snow is “likely,” according to the National Weather Service.

We’ll update you on the next system as it gets closer, but what is clear is that it will be quite cold at least through early next week: highs will be in the single digits all the way until Tuesday when it will “warm up” into the teens.

Stay warm and be safe on the still-icy/snow-packed roads. Here are the 24-hour and 48-hour totals, in that order, from Colorado’s ski areas…
