We’re not really sure what Auld Lang Syne means, but it’s traditional at New Year’s, and especially New Year’s Eve, to mention it and even sing it. Even so, we’ll ring in the New Year with new snow, which is the best way yet to ring it in.
It started snowing in the southwest corner of the state last night and has slowly moved to the rest of Colorado’s mountains, which is reflected in the overnight totals listed below.
It is expected to snow statewide today through tonight and perhaps into the wee hours tomorrow morning. As noted in yesterday’s report, we expect anywhere from six inches or so to two feet of accumulation with the heaviest snow in the southwest, west and northwest parts of Colorado.
There’s a chance for a lingering snow shower through Wednesday, but don’t expect much after today until early next week.
