Today is the late President Corazon Aquino’s 78th birthday

Today, January 25, 2011 is the 78thbirthday of the 11thPresident of the Philippines. The Aquino family, including the 15thand current Philippine President, Benigno Aquino, III observed a private celebration which included a mass at the convent of the Pink Sisters.

In addition to mass, the President, his sisters and other relatives met for a lunch.

The City of Manila unveiled a statue of the late president in celebration of her 78thbirthday which included a wreath-laying by Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim.

President Maria Corazon Sumulong Cojuangco-Aquino served as president February 25, 1986 – June 30, 1992. Shedied on August 1, 2009 at the age of 76.
