Today is Moore Farms and Friends' pickup day (Video) (Photos)

On Feb. 20, 2013, local patrons may begin picking up their pre-ordered produce at Moore Farms and Friends. The locations, dates and times vary for such pickups, but one of today's pickup spots is in Woodland, Ala., in Randolph County.

Customers, in the surrounding areas, can call ahead and pick up produce at their convenience. Contact info is listed below.

Not only does this farm offer produce, but customers can also order, in season, organic oranges, grapefruit and pecans. They also have other choices, such as dairy, meat products, flowers, spices, gift items, soaps, lotions, pet products and more.

The owner and operator is the Moore family (see video). The Moores are happy to offer a new way to order fresh local and regional foods for the family's table with their Online Market.

Features online include custom ordering options, a wide array of products, nutrition information and plenty of delicious farmhouse recipes for one's culinary delight.

There are several convenient pickup locations in Atlanta, Ga. and now Birmingham. They offer real food from real farmers.

For the Moores, real food means good food that is fresh, nutritious and delicious. It should also be clean and free of toxic chemicals and preservatives. A fair price is important too, and these farmers realize this, so they only ask for a fair price for their products.

Two, of many, satisfied customers:

"I look forward every week when it is time to get my produce. I like how we can choose different items too. I especially love their fruit. Strawberries are my favorite!

Also, I love how I can pick up my produce at my convenience. My produce won't go bad either, as they keep it in a walk-in cooler."

"All the food is always very fresh, clean looking and better tasting too. I shop for less items now at the grocery store. Thanks Moore Farms and Friends!"

In addition, the farm supports Slow Food. It is an international organization that they are active with, and they encourage their customers to learn more about it at www.slowfoodatlanta.org.

Other questions and answers about any of the above can be found at Q&A as well as at Vimeo. A series of videos is available on farming that include cooking and canning classes and more!

"Our emphasis for 2013 is going to be more on recipes, prep methods, etc., to help folks prepare our good food quickly and easily." - Laurie Moore
