Today is a palindrome day 01/02/2010. January 2, 2010 is a palindrome day, and the second one of the 21st century. Palindrome day means that if you flip 01/02/2010 over, it is still 01/02/2010.
The last palindrome day was 10/02/2001, and the one before that? Well, 08/31/1380…so it doesn’t happen all that often. And the next one won’t happen until 10/03/3001, assuming of course we make it past December 21, 2012 (see article on the left).
Palindrome is Greek for palindromes and derived from palin which means again. And when combined with drom, meaning run. So the literal meaning of the word is to run back again.
The ‘net buzz on this story is hot because today is a palindrome day and because they are so rare. Many of us won’t live to see the next one.
