On May 27, 2008, the Indians had a historical game with a triple steal. The steal happened while the Tribe was playing the Chicago White Sox. This game not only made history, but broke the team's 5 game losing streak that was going on at the time. The last time the triple steal had been done was back in 1987 by the Atlanta Braves.
How did it happen? First Jamey Caroll was off of first base. The White Sox pitcher, Ehren Wasserman, faked a throw to third, then threw to first, after that, David Delucci, who was on third was able to score. This took Grady Sizemore, who was on second, to third base. This play hasn't happened since 2008. "Those are not plays we practice in spring training," Former manager Eric Wedge stated.
There are many plays that you don't see every day, and this was definitely one of them. On another positive note, the Tribe went on to beat the White Sox that day 8-2.
