Tobogganing in Cleveland

Chalet Toboggan Chutes in Strongsville are now open and operate with or without snow.

The twin, refrigerated ice chutes are more than 700 feet long with an initial drop of 70 feet. This is the only public ice chute in the entire state of Ohio and is open through the first weekend in March.  Hours are as follows:

Thursdays (January & February):  6 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Fridays:  6p.m. - 10:30p.m.

Saturdays:  Noon - 10:30p.m.

Sundays:  Noon - 5p.m.

Rates are $8 for adults and $6 for children 11 and younger.

Children must be at least 42 inches tall to ride and all riders must wear gloves or mittens. The Chalet Recreation area, where the Toboggans are located, also has two fireplaces (one indoor, one outdoor,) a large screen T.V., snack bar and video games.

The Chalet Recreation area is located at 16200 Valley Parkway in Mill Stream Run Reservation, between routes 42 and 82.  You can get directions here.
