Toasting the Fourth - easy to ambitious drink recipes

Minute Man ala OVAL VodkaDuring the American Revolutionary War Minute Men were first responders in times of immediate threat against the colonies. These soldiers were mobile, quick and often young. The Minute Man cocktail recipe duplicates this notion with a quick and easy recipe using trouble-free ingredients in an uncomplicated method of cocktail construction. Not only is the Minute Man straight forward, but it is light and refreshing with a wee bit of zing with the addition of ginger ale.

Minute Man – ala OVAL Vodka
1-1/2 ounce Oval Vodka
1-1/2 ounce fresh sweet & sour
1/4 ounce simple syrup
Splash of ginger ale
Garnish with a lemon wheel

Shake first three ingredients with ice in a shaker; strain into an iced highball glass, top with ginger ale, garnish with lemon wheel.

Molyvos in New York City created the Red, White & Blue Cocktail to celebrate the spirit of America. While the stars and stripes on the American flag symbolize the present number of states and original colonies, there is no legally defined symbolism for the red, white and blue colors represented on the flag. Traditions and presumptions abound regarding the colors.
