Toast the new Pope, drinking Argentinean wine in Coral Gables

Argentina’s Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected Pope and chose the name Francis. So I think it is only fitting to drink some Argentinian wine to celebrate. It’s also better to drink with others for this big event. A few places in Coral Gables with Argentine roots would be perfect.
For casual drinking head to Miracle Mile and into Nahuen which stocks over 100 wines from Argentina to take home or drink on premises. They charge a small corkage fee to open a bottle inside and carry sparkling, white and red wines to enjoy. It is best to order a bottle and some of the Argentinian specialties like empanadas, matambre or pastries.
Another casual spot that features many Argentine favorites to munch on is Graziano’s Market on Galiano Street. They also stock plenty of wines from Argentina that can be enjoyed there with meat platters or taken home. They also carry wines from all over the world, but we are celebrating the new pope, so stick to wine from Argentina.
Want to go a little more formal? Graziano’s Restaurant on the corner of Giralda and LeJuene is the place to go. This is meat lover’s dream, featuring all the special cuts that made Parrillada famous. They also feature Italian dishes, reflecting their family’s Italian roots. Even the new pope’s family has ties back to Italy. Here the wine list is very international. As a great bonus they offer a special wine list on Mondays and Thursdays that has bottles at 50% off. A deal even a pope would take advantage of.
Can’t make it to Coral Gables? Not to worry. Nahuen and Graziano’s have other locations throughout Miami.
