I used to be anti-priming. Jeez... I put enough crap on my face and now I need to put something else on, that you can't even see -- no way!
But I must say, that over the last year I am beginning to change my tune. Just like a in house, if a room is painted lime green, the only way to transition it to a new color is to insert a lay or two of primer in between. Excuse the crud example of me comparing your face to dry wall, but someone had to do it! I kid! I joke!
moving on...
Primer brings your face back to a "nuetral" point. After you moisturize, your skin needs a little reset to turn it into a smooth blank canvas to paint on. If you want to create some real art, you will need a good primer to support your artistic flair.
Your face is a veritable map -- desert-like dry patches here, mountain-esque zits over here... you get the point. A primer goes on ulta light, and locks in your moisturizer so that it won't interfere with your makeup. It calms your skin and balances it out to create the perfect environment for even makeup application. For someone who hasn't used one before, it feels almost gel-like as it goes over your face and leaves your skin silky smooth. In two seconds you don't even notice you have it on, until you put on your makeup.
Once you apply your cover-up and powder you realize how evenly and easily they went on. Instead of soaking into your face causing clogged pores and who knows what -- they sit on top of your primer to perfectly balance your skin!
If the primer is right, everything goes on perfectly -- and lasts!
