In this technology driven, fast paced, multimedia world, we have everything at our fingertips. Well, not quite – finding that love connection still takes time. If we had it our way we, would press a button and custom order a mate on match making sites off the tray or is that Ebay? Well it's not that easy. Let's just say we are not getting to the heart of the matter. Cyber dating has taken us full speed ahead. Just as times have changed, so have the rules for finding a mate. So you that you won't get caught in the CLOUD here are a few cyber dating tips:
“Know the correct platform” Choose the appropriate site to socialize. I recently connected with a colleague on a professional networking site. Her picture was not demonstrative a woman in charge, but more like a woman on charge. Remember there are social sites and business sites; don't confuse the two.
It's a tool, not the whole toolbox Matchmaking sites are tools we use to find our soul mate. Don't spend too much time screening your date through emailing or texting. Pick up the phone and call or try to meet your prospective mate in person as soon as possible. One thing the computer cannot do is determine if the two of you have “CHEMISTRY”. This can only be confirmed in person.
What are you bringing to the table? Chances are anyone you meet in our tech savvy society will do a Google search on you. Know that everyone has access to some degree of information about you. A friend shared with me that she was optimizing her search tool, and discovered one date had a prison record and that another was married.
Network Cyber dating puts you in front of numerous people. Just as you would not go to the same club continuously, don't stay on the same site. Change it up, it's called networking.
Put your best foot forward There is a reason it's called “Face Book”. The old adage, “a picture is worth a thousand words” is still true. Ask yourself, does your background reveal how cluttered your house is? Are you in the bathroom or on an exotic island? Who would date you based on your picture?
With “Plenty of Fish” in the sea, don't get google eyed: remember to put your best face forward on Facebook; pin up on Pinterest and hopefully on Valentine's Day you will make a cyber love connection.
