Kate Perry released Loved by You, the tenth and final installment of her Laurel Heights series, on September 18, 2013. Ten novels is a huge accomplishment but it is quite sad to see the series end. The women of Laurel Heights are what some young women aspire to be; they are smart, beautiful, they have iron clad determination and one of them makes a mean chocolate croissant!
The characters of this series could have been women that actually exist! There's no over the top drama and they have to work hard to come out on top, in both their professional and private lives.
Kate Perry takes friendships and relationships between people that would seem impossible and she makes them possible. Whether it be level headed Rick and eccentric Gwen from Looking for You or Greg and Freya from Perfect for You, she makes it work. All of her characters are three dimensional, they love, they hurt and they laugh just like everyone else.
Kate Perry is magic. That's the only way to describe how amazing her writing is. She writes characters, both male and female, that you can't help but love (even if some of them are kind of whiny). Her male characters are sexy as sin but they're still men who could actually exist. They make you believe that there are real men out there that are handsome and successful and loving. She keeps you entertained and she makes you want to keep reading her books. So pick up Loved by You and check out the rest of the Laurel Heights series.
