To greet our teachers for Christmas

Christmas is a world that makes you feel full with joy because you recall the best of the year and you are full with plans and dreams for the next year – wedding dates have been scheduled, graduations, dates of coming new babies, vacations, travels … Everything that makes people’s life full and enjoyable. And if you do not have money in the pocket, but live in the USA, you are guilty, while if you are in Bulgaria – Christmas protests point to this negative power that makes people to worry about themselves every moment of their life.

It is a scientific problem – is it possible to have society without teachers? Can we build society without teachers? Thousands of prehistoric years of development show that it is possible – in a cultural context when were reproduced mainly traditions. However, today when even three year old child has been doing something that the parents cannot do, we have to answer – no, we need teachers, and we need to change the scientific questions: What kind of teachers do we need in the 21st century? Luckily, at Salt Lake Community College, there is a bouquet of different types of teachers. All of them are elite teachers who are paid to teach and they really teach.

One of the favorites is Susan. I will even not mention her last name since everybody knows her as Susan. The greatest surprise in my life was when I saw that she was even an adjunct. Unbelievable. Susan’s classes are 100% used time for teaching. There is no break. And there is no tiring. Susan is a magical teacher. She teaches Illustrator in a way to make you love illustrator and learn with your head. In very simple way – exercises –-tutorials. She checks all done assignments every class, and together with 100 questions test and 100% attendance (absences filled with homework tutorials) everybody can get solid A. If you do not get A, this is only your fault. Susan is such a perfect teacher that just thinking that she stays adjunct makes you ask big question: When will finally all gifted have their right place in this world? However, it looks Susan so loves her profession that she does not care about her status. She is happy to teach. And the students are happy with her at SLCC.

In similar way one can write about Travis, Juliann, Rob and many other teachers at SLCC which we know only by their first name because like God is one word, in the same way these Gods on the earth make students learn, change, become confident in their future, and even the best in their profession by communicating with students without using the last name for gaining respect.

To be at Christmas table without thinking about your teachers will be not fare. Because Christmas is a family feasting, although to have happy family, we need our teachers to make us learn, confident and full with dreams for future. Family and education are similar as life-long components of people’s life, components that makes us people of high values.

Merry Christmas to our teachers!
