Just because the “Holiday Season” is over doesn’t mean all the holidays are. Valentines Day and Mardi Gras are right around the corner and Chicago’s bars are taking advantage of this by planning big events that not only give you access to one bar, but nine or ten.
Whether you are looking to get fat on Fat Tuesday, looking for love on Valentine's Day or just looking for trouble bar crawls in Chicago are the best way to take advantage of various drink specials.
Division Becomes Bourbon, Cupids Crawl and The 2013 BeadQuest are just some of the bar crawls happening next week with cheap drink specials and free entertainment.
First is the Mardi Gras Division Becomes Bourbon bar crawl which takes place on Fat Tuesday, February 12. Division Street’s famous bars are coming together to throw the biggest party with $2 Bud Lights, $3 Jamo Shots, $5 Rum Hurricanes and live music from The Chicago Brass Band in the streets.
Also each bar will be hosting their own extravaganzas inside. There will be comedy shows in She-nannigans, Mardi Mask making in Mother’s Too, movies and karaoke in The Original Mother’s and free Jumbalaya in The Lodge.
This bar crawl will make Fat Tuesday a Tuesday that will be hard to remember.
The second crawl is the largest “singles” crawl in Chicago. The Chicago Sport Social Club’s 6th annual Cupids Crawl is being held February 15 on Clark Street. The bar lineup starts at 7pm at Moe’s Cantina and ends at 11pm at John Barleycorn.
The night is said to be full of $3 Coors Lights, $5 cocktails and anti-love in the air. Make sure to RSVP so you can receive your wristband at the first bar.
The third event is The 2013 BeadQuest pub crawl on February 16, hosted by Festa Parties who are known for their annual TBOX crawl. The BeadQuest starts at 1pm in Wrigleyville at Murphy’s Bleachers.
Every crawlers goal is to collect the most beads, especially beads with the disc numbers 1 thru 9 to be entered into a raffle. Last year the BeadQuest attracted 2,600 people and handed out 30,000 beads. This year the BeadQuest is suppose to be even bigger so make sure to get your tickets ASAP.
During a bar crawl everyone starts out standing as strangers in the first bar but leaning on each other as a family in the last bar. Bar crawls can be a fun way to meet new people who are out to have a good time on a budget just like you.
