“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you (Ephesians 4:32).”
The act of kindness is something that more and more people tend to not only disregard, but also take advantage of when someone around them is kind. People have become selfish, unwavering beasts that are worry-free and content with their sinful lives.
It is sometimes difficult to be kind to others when others neglect to reciprocate this kindness. During such moments of frustration or feelings of bleakness, we must not give up on being kind. Remember how our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ was kind to all people. He never spoke evil or did evil acts towards anyone. Jesus was the perfect example of Whom we sinners must strive be like.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).”
Our Lord Jesus and Heavenly Father love each of us so much. We as humans cannot fathom how vast this love is, but we know it to be true. We must constantly recall the life of our Lord Jesus, and think about how He handled the unkind individuals. We should read the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John to give us some understanding.
“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back. And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them (Luke 6:27-31).”
Beloved, do not allow the darkness to make your heart turn cold. Turn to our Lord as much as you can. Do not wait until the darkness attacks you, for you to ask God for help. We must acknowledge that as sinners, we are lost and helpless. We must realize how much we need God at all times. Ask God for His guidance and follow according to His Will.
Kindness is a daunting task when you are confronted by the cruelty of man. Fret now fellow followers of Christ, and stand up holding the Hand of our Lord Jesus. Know He is with us always. Prayer is the most powerful tool we have as Christians. Do not squander the gifts and blessings given to us. Show God your gratitude through your kind acts towards one another.
