To bail out, or not to bail out?

Passing through the living room the other day I witnessed an interview with Wisconsin’s own, Governor Scott Walker. It was noted during his talk that Wisconsin had a surplus of cash on hand and that the plan was to return the excess to the taxpayers via reductions in property and income taxes.

Hmmm, that’s interesting.

For quite a while now we’ve been hearing from Lansing, the Governor’s office to be specific, that Michigan also has a surplus. It would seem that our own Rick Snyder had a choice before him as well. He could have done the same thing that Scott Walker is now talking about doing and return the excess to the taxpayers, or … or he could send the extra ready cash to the corrupt-o-philes on the Detroit City Council.

What choice do you, as a taxpayer, think he made?

You guessed right. He’s sending the excess collections of our hard-earned money to the notoriously corrupt people running the bankrupt City of Detroit.

If stupid wore stilts, it might look like Rick Snyder.

I guess it’s to be expected for any given group to take care of their own. Here we see your typical politician taking care of others of his ilk and damn the people who put him in office … again.

Then again, stupid on stilts might just look like the average Michigan voter/taxpayer.

He said repeatedly that it wasn’t a bail-out. But I guess by Snyder’s standard, General Motors and Chrysler weren’t bailed out either. Neither were the Wall St. Bankers.

I say if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck … well, you know the rest.

I’m sure I’m not speaking only for myself when I say it might have been nice, occasionally, to take the wife out for a fine meal … occasionally. I would have been able to exactly that if I only had the extra funds being taken from my pension check each month in the form of state taxes, which have now gone to the criminals running Detroit.

Personally, I’m giving some serious thought to sitting out the next election. To parrot the words of the openly socialist Democrat Hillary Clinton, what difference does it make?

The Republican Party is continuing to give us spineless, weak-kneed wannabe democrats as candidates who take care of their political ilk first and damn the people, and then stand by and watch while the Democrat Party is moves the country further to the left.

I wonder if they’re aware that a majority of the people think the country is moving in the wrong direction?

But then, I guess if the politicians are doing well, we’re all doing well; right?
