TNT renames Frank Darabont's 'L.A. Noir' to 'Lost Angels'

In order to avoid a lawsuit, TNT has changed the name of Frank Darabont's upcoming (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) new series from L.A. Noir to Lost Angels in order to avoid confusion from the video game by Rockstar Games called L.A. Noire.

Darabont tells io9:

Yes, it was going to be called L.A. Noir, based on the book by John Buntin. But the video game company with the video game called L.A. Noire (with an e!) threatened to sue the shit out of me, TNT, every company that actually ever worked in Hollywood. And they have the billions of dollars to back it up, apparently. So we're changing the title, and I do believe the title is going to be Lost Angels.

I guess Rockstar Games didn't know that L.A. Noir was based on the book called: L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City.

Lost Angels will premiere in 2013.
