Hulk Hogan re-signing with TNA Impact Wrestling might be less likely now because his best friend might be gone from the company. According to PWInsider on Oct. 24, Eric Bischoff was not at the “Impact” show this week and might not be back any time soon.
While he has been off TV for almost a year now, Bischoff has been running the creative side of the promotion and had really amped up his work recently. However, he was not at the TV tapings and two different inside sources said that he is gone and that a number of people are happy about that.
A lot of problems have been occurring in TNA over the last year, and some believe that Hogan and Bischoff’s ideas have hurt the company more than they helped. The ideas were good, but the company was clearly not ready for them. The Monday Night Wars idea failed quickly. The company cut back on the number of pay-per-views, which might be a good idea but eliminates a revenue source. Finally, the company began touring with “Impact.”
That is a great idea for both the fans around the country, as well as from how the show looks on television, but it was also an idea that cost the company even more money. A number of major stars were released as a result, including Brooke Hogan.
It seems like TNA Wrestling might be moving in a new direction without Eric Bischoff. At the “Bound for Glory” PPV, every title changed hands, showing a possible change in direction, and there is still no word on whether AJ Styles will be back with the company or not.
Whether or not Eric Bischoff is gone from TNA Wrestling for good or not remains to be seen, but the company seems to be looking for a new direction right now.
