Just last week, former TNA Knockout Tara ripped TNA Impact Wrestling and said she would never wrestle there again. According to Rajah on Oct. 7, former Knockout Champion Mickie James was a bit more diplomatic.
James said that she was not at liberties to talk about her status but she was not “technically” under contract right now and was not at the last television taping. She did say that TNA Impact Wrestling is in the process of a changeover right now and there is no telling how it will look when it all works out.
James did say that part of the problems with pas pay issues and recent changes had to do with the company heading out on the road. She did say that the man who is now in charge of talent worked for the WWE for 20 years, so they might be headed in the right direction, but it is currently a sense of fear for many wrestlers who don’t know what the future holds.
She did say that, despite the Internet rumors of late paychecks, her check was never late and she always received hers on time. She did say there was an issue with others.
James also touched on the WWE Divas division. She said she was lucky to be there when she was, with wrestlers like Trish Stratus, Beth Phoenix, Lita and Melina. She mentioned that no one there now had the torch passed to them like her era did thanks to Stratus and Lita. She said Natalya Neidhart and Alicia Fox are both great wrestlers, and the Diva’s show is a great tool to get fans invested in them.
