TNA Wrestling news: Hardy Boyz to reunite at upcoming NYC tapings

TNA Impact Wrestling seems to be taking on a last gasp run as they move their TV taping to New York City. Ticket sales are down and attendance has been dropping drastically and the company is reaching out to anyone and everyone to try to salvage these TV taping ticket sales since their upcoming TV renewal contract could depend on the results. According to PWInsider on Monday, the latest addition is Matt Hardy and the reunion of the Hardy Boyz tag team.

This also isn’t the first wrestlers that TNA Impact Wrestling have reached out to. There were a lot of rumors swirling that TNA was trying to hit and raid the Ring of Honor talent pool, although TNA Impact Wrestling officials denied it. Names that were contacted were Jay Lethal and the tag team of reDRagon.

The word is that Davey Richards of The Wolves personally reached out to reDRagon because he wanted to bring in a quality tag team that he knew The Wolves could work well with. Despite Richards close relationship with Kyle O’Reilly, the team of reDRagon refused. They are actually under contract with Ring of Honor. This makes no sense since TNA Impact Wrestling just refused to retain Bad Influence without ever giving them a chance to feud with The Wolves.

Jay Lethal was part of TNA Impact Wrestling trying to rebuild the X-Division just in time for their upcoming New York City taping. However, Lethal left because he was not happy and is currently the Ring of Honor television champion. He also refused the invitation.

However, Matt Hardy did agree to return. He was working on a case-by-case basis in Ring of Honor. The Matt Hardy return looks to signal a reunion of The Hardy Boyz for the first time since 2011. Matt Hardy left TNA Impact Wrestling at the time due to legal problems, but those have been resolved. Expect the duo to feud with Magnus and Bram when Matt Hardy makes his return.
