AJ Styles has less than a week left under his TNA Impact Wrestling contract and already dropped his TNA World Championship at the television tapings that will air over the next month. According to Rajah on Dec. 11, the fact that Styles was let go has many TNA originals worried.
Out of everyone in TNA Impact Wrestling, AJ Styles was the man that the company was built around. He has been there since day one and when people talk about the face of TNA Impact Wrestling, it is Styles who is mentioned first. He has always been the perfect company man and has never thought of walking away until now.
The problem is that, after over a decade with the company, TNA wanted him to take a major pay cut to sign a new deal. It was an embarrassing situation that a professional wrestling company with a worldwide television presence was asking the heart and soul of their company to work for less than he would make almost anywhere else.
Styles didn’t want to take a large pay cut after all the hard work he did in helping TNA Impact Wrestling grow over the years and chose to just leave the company instead. Now, other originals are hearing they will also have to take major pay cuts when their contracts end or leave as well.
Names like Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, James Storm and Bobby Roode have been with the company since the start and there is a chance that, soon, all the TNA original home grown stars might be gone from the company and the clock might start ticking on the promotion itself.
