Whether or not “TNA Impact Wrestling” is for sale depends on who you talk to. While the Carter Family have denied the company is for sale, many sources inside the company say that it is on the market. According to PWS on Nov. 1, there are a number of top contenders to purchase TNA Wrestling.
Janice Carter, the mother of Dixie Carter, sent out a memo to employees to ensure them that the Carter family and Panda Energy was still supporting the company and it was not for sale.
However, the TNA rumors that the company is for sale persists.
The leading candidate to purchase TNA Wrestling is former owner Jeff Jarrett. He has proven before to be able to secure financial backing and is the smartest prospect when it comes to running the company. When he owned it before, it was not as big as it is now, but it was never in danger of not paying the talent and was better received critically.
The second person rumored to be looking to find financers to buy the company is Eric Bischoff. However, the Bischoff and Hulk Hogan regime ran TNA the last few years and they have gone further and further into the hole through that time. Even if Bischoff finds financial backers, could he keep it alive?
There is also word that a celebrity wants to buy the company, with Smashing Pumpkins’ front-man Billy Corgan the one rumored to want to take over ownership. Corgan has a background in wrestling, but is not one of the better choices.
Spike TV and the WWE are also in the rumor discussions, but both of those choices when it comes to buying TNA Impact Wrestling is a long-shot.
