The news broke last week that Dixie Carter and her family were looking to sell TNA Impact Wrestling. Prowrestling.com reported on Oct. 29 that more information has become available and it appears the Carter family have been trying to sell the company for awhile now.
While the original report said that the Carter family would sell to the highest bidder, and names like Eric Bischoff, Jeff Jarrett, Viacom and the WWE were on the list of possible buyers, it actually appears that they will only sell it to a handful of people.
This means the selling of TNA Impact Wrestling will not be a public ordeal and will be a private deal between the Carter family and someone they have handpicked.
The Carter family has received a number of offers from TNA Impact Wrestling for a few months now and this has been made known to select people in the business department of TNA Wrestling. One of the reasons for the select number of potential buyers is that the Carter family feels they can get more money from select buyers than they would from a public auction sort of sale.
When someone finally makes a bid for the company, it will become public knowledge and then a bidding war will start and the sale will end up taking the media by storm much like the WCW sale.
