The American Wolves tag team of Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards made a backstage appearance at "TNA Genesis" in a promo with Dixie Carter. The duo will finally make their in-ring debut for TNA on the UK tour and PWS reported on Jan. 20 that the TNA contract is for one year.
They are immediately thrown into a new angle where they signed their contracts with a mysterious new "investor" in the company, an angle that looks to place Dixie Carter in a feud of her own with whoever this benefactor is.
Since they started out their TNA television career in a dispute with Dixie Carter, it is pretty obvious that The American Wolves will at least enter TNA as fan favorites.
The TNA contracts for Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards also allow them to wrestle for independent wrestling promotions, as long as those appearances are not on Internet pay-per-views, regional television shows or on DVDs sold in retail stores. This means they won't be appearing on Ring of Honor, Dragon Gate USA, or more importantly for Richards, for Evolve.
There was also questions about whether they could travel to Japan to compete while under TNA contract and it appears the only Japanese promotion they will be allowed to work for is Keiji Mutoh's Wrestle-1, which has a partnership with TNA Impact Wrestling set up by former executive Jeff Jarrett.
