TNA Impact Wrestling 'Lockdown' pay-per-view preview

TNA Impact Wrestling "Lockdown" takes place on Sunday night from San Antonio, Texas. According to 411mania.com on March 10, a late match was added with Joseph Parks against Joey Ryan, giving the card eight matches. Here is a look at what you can expect from "TNA Lockdown."

The first match between Parks and Ryan was added with no advance notice. Parks is the man formerly known as Abyss, now referred to as Abyss' brother with no wrestling skills. He does occasionally snap and pull out Abyss-styled moves, which is how he should beat Ryan here.

Next up is the battle of former "bros" as Robbie E takes on his former big man bodyguard Rob Terry. Since Terry is a monster, and neither man is really over with the crowd, Terry should win here and then both guys might disappear completely from TNA until another angle can be found for them.

A three-way for the X-Division title is next, and it does not involve former champion Rob Van Dam. New champ, Kenny King, defends against Christian York and former champions Zema on. It looked like York was gone from TNA, so this is a surprise and it might be his last chance to prove he belongs. King should retain in a fast paced, exciting match.

The Knockouts title is on the line next as champion Velvet Sky defends her title against Gail Kim.

Unlike past "Lockdown" pay-per-view events, not every match here is in a cage. However, the first one to hit the big cage is Kurt Angle against Wes Brisco of Aces & Eights. This will be an interesting match because Brisco has not shown much yet. Angle should help carry him through the rough spots and this might be a decent introduction to the second generation Brisco star.

The tag team championship is up next with a three-way pitting champions Bobby Roode and Austin Aries against two former championship teams in Bad Influence (Kaz and Daniels) and Hernandez and Chavo Guerrero. With Roode's contract expiring in real life, this match received a new twist, but if that gets worked out, this should be a great three-way.

The Lethal Lockdown is up next with Aces & Eights (Devon, Anderson, Doc, Knox an Garrett Bischoff) taking on Team TNA (Sting, Magnus, Samoa Joe, James Storm, Eric Young). The talent involved for Team TNA is strange, with Joe and Magnus former tag team champions who turned on each other last year and EY a comedy act. This should be interesting, and with D-Lo Brown revealed as the VP of Aces & Eights last week, the president should show his face soon. Could it be tonight?

Finally, the main event is for the world title with Jeff Hardy and Bully Ray fighting in the steel cage. After the entire love fest on Thursday night between the two, could this be a turn for Bully Ray - or maybe a turn for Jeff Hardy? Either way, both guys have been hot lately and they know each other well, so this should be a solid match.

"TNA Lockdown" airs at 8 p.m. EST on pay-per-view.
