According to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, TNA IMPACT Wrestling is up for sale and the Carter Family have been looking to sell for some time now. On a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio through f4wonline.com, Meltzer revealed some vague details but clarified that according to his sources that TNA is up for sale.
"There's a lot of moves being done behind the scenes. There are, no matter what anyone is gonna say right now, big things behind the scenes as far as the future ownership of the company and at that point God only knows where it goes.... There's people looking at getting it and I think the Carters are looking to get out. They've lost enough money and all that and as far as what that means, who knows? But they've been looking to get out for awhile, now everyone is going to scream at me and all that, but that's a 100%, but that's the stuff they don't want you to know.... They've been looking to get out when they stopped, you know, when it became incumbent, when they didn't want to fund them anymore...."
-Dave Meltzer, Wrestling Observer Radio
"The Carters" that Meltzer is referring to are the Carter family whose international energy company Panda Energy is the parent company of TNA IMPACT. Dixie Carter serves as TNA President both on and off camera. If the Carter family is indeed selling the company as Meltzer claims, it's unclear what the future of TNA IMPACT heading forward.
In the last week, TNA has canceled on-the-road live broadcasts and tapings of 'IMPACT' and announced a return to Orlando's Universal Studios for three days of consecutive TV shows on Nov. 21st, 22nd and 23rd. This move was seen as yet another heavy cost-cutting measure made by the company, after the company released several talents. Hulk Hogan's high dollar contract with TNA came to end at the beginning of October.
