Time for the battle of the former best friends. These two had a classic half-hour Iron Man before. If they get close to that, this Pay Per View is an easy win. Samoa Joe, Lashley, and Kurt Angle are all lined up with title shots- let's see if they'll be facing AJ or Daniels!
AJ Styles defeats Daniels with a top rope Styles Clash (**** 1/4).
This was fantastic. Daniels wrestled a perfect match, using a ton of smack talk and back work to establish his heel stature. AJ gave back, but with a bad back was fighting a losing battle, except that Daniels couldn't put him away so he went to his old school offense like the kip up hurricanrana and flip DDT to keep alive. Eventually, Daniels tried his second frankensteiner from the top of the match, but AJ was ready and reversed it into the Styles Clash for the win. If AJ had played up the back a bit more in the finishing sequence or Daniels his cheating a bit more earlier, this is near perfect. As is, it'll settle for being great and Match of the Night.
