Tonight, Sunday, October 20, was the ninth annual Bound For Glory pay per view, presented by TNA Wrestling. Bound For Glory has been established as TNA’s flagship pay per view and its premier event each year. Tonight’s show was held in the Viejas Arena in San Diego, California. Here are the results.
In the Countdown to Bound For Glory live special that aired on SpikeTV immediately before the pay per view began, The BroMans (Robbie E and Jesse Godderz) won a Tag Team Gauntlet to earn to a TNA World Tag Team Championship match later on the pay per view.
- Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels & Kazarian) beat Chavo Guerrero & Hernandez when Daniels rolled up Guerrero.
- Joseph Park & Eric Young beat Bad Influence. Young pinned Daniels after Park hit him with a Samoan Drop.
- The Bro Mans (with “Mr. Olympia” Phil Heath) beat Young & Park. The Bro Mans hit a double flapjack and a Hart Attack on Young for the pinfall.
As they took down the Ultimate X structure, commentators Mike Tenay and Taz talked about the show and showed a video package of AJ Styles becoming the first ever X-Division Champion.
Bad Influence then came to the ring to complain out their loss earlier in the night. They demanded to be added to tonight’s Tag Title match. Eric Young then came out to warn the duo as pretty soon Abyss (Joseph Park’s “brother”) showed up and laid waste to both members of Bad Influence.
Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed TNA World Tag Team Champions James Storm and Gunner about their upcoming Title defense.
The BroMans (Robbie E and Jesse Godderz) (with “Mr. Olympia” Phil Heath) beat TNA World Tag Team Champions James Storm & Gunner to win the Championships. Robbie tossed a Tag Title in the ring to distract Storm and then The Bro Mans hit Storm with a Hart Attack to get the pinfall.
They showed clips of last night’s TNA Hall of Fame ceremony.
In the ring, TNA’s first Hall of Fame inductee Sting came out to officially induct Kurt Angle as the second member of the Hall. Angle gave a speech about he grateful he was but then said he had not lived up to his potential, let his family, friends and peers down and has not lived up to the standard set by Sting. He said when he is worthy and has set a new standard in the industry he will accept his induction. He then declined the induction. He handed his watch back to Sting and the two men embraced.
They then show a clip of AJ Styles winning the TNA World Title at No Surrender ‘09.
Backstage, Dixie Carter and Ethan Carter III bond as Dixie puts all of Styles’ merchandise on clearance. She said Ethan would debut tonight.
Gail Kim beat Brooke Tessmacher and then-Champion ODB in a triple threat match to win the TNA Knockouts Championship. Lei’d Tapa showed up during the match and brawled with ODB and booted her in the face. Brooke then tried to hit Tapa with a cross bodyblock but Tapa dropped with a nasty looking powerbomb back into the ring. Kim then got the pinfall and the Championship. Post-match, Kim and Tapa celebrated together.
Backstage, The BroMans celebrated their Title victory.
Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Bobby Roode about his upcoming bout with Kurt Angle.
Bobby Roode pinned Kurt Angle. Angle hit Roode with an Olympic Slam from the top rope and both men were down for a nine count. Roode then stood up to stop the count and then promptly fell back down onto Angle for the pinfall victory. Medical people then come down to check on Angle and look to do a stretcher job for him but he got up off the stretcher and walked it off like a hero.
They showed AJ Styles beating Sting to retain the TNA World Title.

Backstage, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray talked to members of Aces & 8s, who are unseen.
Ethan Carter III pinned Norv Fernum after hitting a bulldog driver.
Backstage, Jeremy Borash interviewed Magnus about his upcoming match with Sting.
Magnus made Sting tap out to the Cloverleaf. Post-match, Magnus celebrated wildly as Sting struggled to his feet. Sting finally got Magnus’ attention, who gave “The Icon” a sarcastic, half hearted handshake.
Backstage, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Bully Ray talked about his upcoming title defense against AJ Styles.
AJ Styles pinned then-Champion Bully Ray to win the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a No Count Outs, No Disqualifications Match. Styles pinned The Bully Ray after hitting the rare Spiral Tap.
