The Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation (TMWF) will be hosting their 8th Annual Fundraising Dinner to help fund the Peaceful Oasis Domestic Violence Shelter and other TMWF programs. The dinner will be held on Saturday January 26th at the Doubletree Hotel by Hilton in Richardson, Texas at 5:30pm. Free babysitting is provided for children the ages of 12 years old and under and those who are unable to attend are welcome to donate. The Texas Muslim Women's Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to empower, promote, and support women and families through Educational, Outreach, Philanthropic, and Social Services. The organization was established in 2005 in an atmosphere where the voice of Muslim women was rarely heard and when the prevailing stereotype that all Muslim women are subjugated or ignored was widely assumed. TMWF is the first of its kind in North Texas to give Muslim women a strong voice and to address their needs thus highlighting the vital role of women in Islam.
TMWF is actively demonstrating that American Muslims are a peaceful, ethical and philanthropic community that cares deeply about humanitarian causes, diversity and equality. They have been on the forefront of establishing friendship and understanding through interfaith dialogue and TMWF youth have been enthusiastic ambassadors for six years through volunteering monthly in food pantries, feeding the homeless, working with the Salvation Army, and organizing toy drives for sick and needy children.
TMWF is proud to serve the Muslim community and are happy to assist them at all levels through the below mentioned programs:
-The Peace in the Home Program, serving over 600 families since 2011
- The Youth to be ambassadors of good will and service program
- By Co-sponsoring new projects like:
- Islamic Arts Revival Series, presenting at the Dallas Museum of Arts & the Eisemann Center
- Project Ramadan feeding 250 families
- Compassion for Fashion presenting young designers and
- Interfaith & outreach programs presenting the peaceful constructive Muslim community in the DFW metroplex.
