LA - meet TLT. Although you may not know each other yet, you'll love this place. This restaurant, perfectly situated on Westwood Boulevard smack in the middle of Westwood Village, serves up street food-style food in a brick and mortar location. And it is the bomb.
If you have been to this place, you probably also learned of its association with The Lime Truck - the winner of Food Network's The Great Food Truck Race. Chef/Owner Daniel Shemtob opened TLT late last year and it has been pleasing UCLA students, local residents, and the thousands of people who work along the Wilshire Corridor ever since. Good news here for people who don't live on this side of town - a new location is soon to open in DTLA.
When you get to TLT, which is pretty hard to miss because of its distinctive lime coloring, make sure to get these things. Why? Because they will change your life. And. It's. So. Cheap.
Carnitas Fries - They're like fries, but oh so much more. Covered in carnitas, cheese, guac, and chipotle-honey cabbage - this is by far the best hangover cure for sure.
Short Rib Quesadilla - Meaty, cheesy, gooey, sloppy, amazing.
Pork Belly Tacos - Tender, delicious, pork belly. Mmmmm. With tomatillo salsa, cilantro, and sriracha.
Blue Crab Grilled Cheese - Better than your mom's average grilled cheese.
Make sure to check out the specials as they are always great.
The drink options consist of a great selection of rotating beers and not-too-pricey wines. And, if you're wanting a soft drink - they have one of those crazy Coca Cola machines that basically makes any number of sodas (even with different flavorings!)
Added perks - free WiFi, open late (midnight), and totally laid back.
It's Lime Time, baby!
