The University of Detroit Titans (17-9, 9-4) avenged a loss earlier this season to the Cleveland St. Vikings (12-14, 4-8) with a 92-62 rout over the visiting Vikings.
Several Titans had a good night as Detroit jumped out to a ten point lead early and never looked back. Nick Minnerath had a huge night with 34 points and 12 boards. Ray McCallum registered 16 points, 13 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Jason Calliste added 19 points and with a bucket later in the second half eclipsed the 1000 point mark for his Titan career.
The Vikings could not find their three point shot going 3 for 15 and could never really pose a threat against an energized Titan team. Bryn Forbes led the team with 14 points and Marlin Mason added 11 points for Cleveland St.
The Titans as a team out rebounded the Vikings by a 44 to 23 margin. The Titans banged out 23 offensive boards which allowed for second chances and extended possessions all while showing off their third blue uniforms.
The Titans look to draw closer to first place Valparaiso when they travel there on Saturday in a game which will be featured on ESPN. The Vikings will play host to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix on Friday night.
