Titans goalie Hovinen could be going home to Finland

Trenton Titans backup goalie Niko Hovinen could be on his way out of town.

The team signed back up goalie Eric Swanick on Friday to back up starter Scott Wedgewood. This come as reports say that Hovinen would leave the Titans to play for KalPa in Finland.

Last night, Titans head coach Vince Williams said Hovinen was "sick" and would not let him meet with the media.

"He's not feeling well," said Williams. "He's a little under the weather. We'll see what happens (today)."

Williams says that he doesn't know what's going on with Hovinen. The young netminder has only appeared in 16 games with the Titans, including a 3.14 goals against average and a .889 save percentage.

"I don't know the situation or speculation," said Williams. "I would be the first to know, as I have very close contact with (the) Philadelphia (Flyers) on a daily basis."
