The University of Detroit Titans (16-9, 8-4) saw their four-game win streak come to an end against the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Phoenix (13-12, 7-5), 68-59.
The Titans had a big game from Ray McCallum who scored 30 points and had 5 rebounds. Jason Calliste scored 14. Unfortunately for the Titans, that's about all they could muster offensively.
The rest of the Titan team provided very little and the usually balanced high scoring attack of the Titans was shut down by the Phoenix. Green Bay slowed the game down and caused the Titans to look unusually sloppy on the offensive end as the Titans' back court only put up 15 points. The Phoenix used a balanced scoring attack and the game had a feel to it of a game from another Wisconsin school.
Keifer Sykes led the way for the Phoenix with 16 points and 5 dimes. They also got 12 from Jordan Fouse and 11 points from seldom used guard Kam Cerroni. Alec Brown also chipped in 10.
The Titans went ice cold through long stretches in the second half that allowed the Phoenix to build their lead late in the game. Green bay then sealed the deal with free throws, going 18 of 23 for the game.
The Titans will try and regroup on Tuesday and will be hosting Cleveland St. while Green Bay's next opponent is also Cleveland St., but not until Friday the 15th.
