Titanic 100th anniversary victims memorial part 3

On April 14, 1912, the RMS Titanic was rushing towards New York City and a record for an Atlantic crossing. Captain Smith, who was retiring after the maiden voyage of Titanic, was given at least two messages regarding icebergs being in their path. It's a bit of a mystery as to why Captain Smith disregarded the iceberg warnings. In the American hearings, even the survivors told conflicting stories. The Discover Channel website has pages of information on Titanic.

Regardless of what Captain Smith knew of didn't know, the huge luxury liner struck an iceberg at 11:40 p.m. and sank into the freezing waters of the Atlantic Ocean at approximately 2:15 p.m. on April 15, 1912.

Over 1,500 passengers and crew lost their lives in the Titanic disaster and they should not be forgotten.

On April 14 through April 15, there will be a huge push to get the names of Titanic victims  and Titanic information in general to trend on as many social media sites as possible.
